NoSo Patches makes stick-on repair patches for torn jackets, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, and other synthetic gear. The idea came from founder Kelli Jones after she ripped a Patagonia down parka on a barbed-wire fence while hunting. Duct tape worked, technically. It also looked terrible. So she started cutting better-looking repair shapes from technical materials, then launched NoSo Patches on Indiegogo in 2016.
The ownership trail is unusually direct. NoSo’s about page names Kelli Jones as founder and tells the original repair story. A separate “Request Kelli’s Time” page shows Kelli still representing the company for speaking, media, mentorship, and sustainability requests. The site’s responsibility materials keep the focus on extending product life rather than selling replacement gear. We found no acquisition record, corporate parent, or match in the corporate-parent exclusion list.
This is a small product with a useful philosophy behind it: the cleanest jacket is often the one you already own. Outdoor gear has a waste problem because high-performance fabrics tear, delaminate, stain, or look tired long before the whole item is truly done. A patch does not make nylon natural. It does make replacement less automatic.
NoSo’s catalog includes plain patches, artist designs, jumbo repairs, denim and fleece patches, merino-compatible options, custom business patches, and industrial repair applications. The patches are heat-set after sticking, so they are more durable than a quick tape fix and less intimidating than sewing technical fabric.
There is a limit to what a patch can solve. Failed waterproof membranes, broken zippers, and worn-out seams still need deeper repair or replacement. But for punctures and tears, NoSo gives people a low-cost way to keep useful gear in circulation. That fits Clean Directory: repair first, replace later, and make the repair good enough that people actually use it. Small fixes count when they prevent unnecessary replacement.
