Green Goo is a plant-based first-aid and body-care brand from Lyons, Colorado, built by the Scott family. The company traces its roots to herbal salves made from calendula, comfrey, yarrow, plantain, and other familiar medicinal plants rather than petroleum bases or mystery fragrance blends.

The ownership story needed a closer look. Green Goo's own founder page describes the business as women-owned and family-operated, with Jodi Scott as co-founder and CEO and Jen Scott leading product development. In October 2025, Spry Life announced that the Scott family had bought the brand back and relaunched it under family leadership. That matters. We found no match in the corporate-parent exclusion list, and the current ownership trail points back to the founding family.

Green Goo sits in a useful middle lane: not a medicine cabinet replacement, not a wellness brand trying to make every scrape spiritual. The core products are salves, balms, deodorants, lip care, baby products, and topical formulas for dry skin, minor irritation, sun exposure, and everyday skin repair. The company also publishes ingredient and plant-source material, which gives label-readers more to work with than a front-of-pack promise.

The clean case here is ingredient legibility. A first-aid balm still needs common sense, especially for serious burns, infection, deep wounds, pregnancy, allergies, or medical conditions. But for routine skin care and minor topical use, Green Goo gives shoppers a family-run alternative to petroleum-heavy ointments and corporate drugstore brands.

We list Green Goo because the brand is founder-connected again, the products are specific, and the ingredient philosophy is visible enough to evaluate. The boring part was checking the ownership change. Worth it.
