Kodiak Island Smokehouse is a family-owned seafood operation on Kodiak Island, Alaska—originally established in 1987, taken over by its current family in 2016. The business grew rapidly enough that by 2018 the family had outgrown their original facility, moving into a larger, modern production space that expanded both their retail footprint and their capabilities. That move opened the door to full-service wild game processing alongside their seafood work, serving local hunters with the same precision and care they bring to every sockeye run. Visitors to their retail shop can watch skilled processors at work through a live-stream monitor in the lobby—a behind-the-scenes look that speaks to the transparency and pride the family brings to their craft.
