Alpine Gold’s core ingredient is grass-fed beef tallow. Megan’s standard is specific: grass-fed, grass-finished, certified organic tallow, chosen because she wanted the fat source to be as clean as possible. That matters with tallow. If a brand is going to build its whole formula around animal fat, sourcing cannot be vague.

The product line is tight: original and whipped tallow balms, lip balms, shaving soap, and a Golden Hour oil cleanser. The balms come unscented or lightly scented with essential oils such as lavender, frankincense, cedar, citrus, and fir. The main caveat is the category itself. Tallow skincare has become trendy fast, and not every tallow brand explains sourcing well. Alpine Gold earns the listing because it does name the sourcing standard, keeps the formula simple, and avoids pretending that a moisturizer is medicine. That restraint counts.
