Pawtorc is a Pocatello, Idaho dog-food and supplement brand built by Jeff Huckstep, a longtime dog trainer, kennel operator, hunter, and working-dog handler. The brand is new, but the point is not. Huckstep says he created Pawtorc after years of watching the difference between dogs that were merely fed and dogs that were properly fueled.

The ownership trail is direct. Pawtorc’s founder page identifies Huckstep as the founder and frames the company around his own working dogs and boarding experience. Idaho State Journal profiles him as the local dog professional behind Pawtorc and describes the brand as his answer to the price and quality problems he saw in mainstream dog food. We found no corporate parent, acquisition record, private-equity backing, or exclusion-list match.

Pawtorc is not a raw-food company. Its formulas are dry dog foods and supplement chews made for working dogs, hunting dogs, house companions, and dogs with sensitivities. Each blend centers meat as the first ingredient and adds probiotics, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, glucosamine, collagen, and other functional nutrients. Huckstep told the Idaho State Journal he worked with nutritionists and chose a U.S. manufacturer with a long recall-free record.

That still leaves a fair label-reading job for pet owners. The formulas are not single-ingredient, and the food is co-manufactured rather than made in a tiny Idaho kitchen. We list Pawtorc because the founder is visible, the product thesis is specific, and the company is trying to make better dog nutrition reachable without hiding behind pet-wellness fog.

For Idaho dog owners, the local angle matters too. Pawtorc sells online, offers local delivery, and works through Southeast Idaho retailers, which makes it easier to ask direct questions before switching a dog’s food. That access is useful with any diet change: ingredients matter, but so does being able to reach the person willing to stand behind the bag.
